This is beautifully written and incredibly inspiring. I loved when you said, "the rising comes from education". I believe this even now for my generation. As a child everything you know and believe is an extension of your parents beliefs, you cannot form your own opinions until you are educated. Something else I see in the four Worthy siblings is undying strength. No matter what has happened there was always a light at the end of the tunnel worth fighting for. Thank you for sharing this, I loved it!

Robert,

Please forgive the long delay in getting back to you. Right after I posted my wife was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain and we've been on a long and difficult journey with that. Thanks so much not only for posting but for being a great parent!!!

All The Best,
Chuck

My parents instilled the same principles to me has a child. I passed them on to my children. The formula seems to work. I have three daughters and I had witnessed the traps that they could have fell in if they were not aware of the situations that exist in life and our society. One thing I really beat to death was having children before you were formally educated, had a job and cashed a paycheck. To have one before these things occurred would be a sure avenue to poverty. The next thing was to never find yourself in a situation where someone can do more for you than you can do for yourself. This alludes to what the Author refers to has Self Reliance. My daughters always had a good sense of self and a sense of belonging. My daughters also had the good fortune of being raised by two parents who gave a damn about their future and were dedicated to creating an enviroment for them to thrive. It's not about having money to push these values it's a matter of comittment. Great article.
