Newcomers to Spokane

For Jeff and Sandi Mooring, the glitter of life in California had begun to tarnish. After spending more than 20 years as an actor, Jeff was ready for something new. Sandi, although a successful sales rep, agreed. It was time to make a change. After Sandi’s son met and became engaged to a woman in Spokane, the couple flew north to visit. And that was it.

They sold their home in the Burbank area and moved to Spokane in January of this year. Now both Jeff and Sandi, who plan to start a personal procurement service here called “Expeditors” – think personal shopping for anything and everything – are looking forward to building a new life in this area.

Why Spokane

“When we got here and looked around at the city, it was an easy decision,” Jeff says. “We had family here, and we were at a stage in our lives when we could move, so it just made sense.”

“The first thing you notice is the ease of getting around and how little traffic there is compared to other places,” Sandi says. “And it is a pretty place.”

Real Estate

“We’re renting a house now, but we’re looking at property and interviewing architects,” Jeff Mooring says. “I want to build a house in the Suncrest area.”

“It is so beautiful there and so nice to have property around you,” Sandi says. “People don’t always remember what a luxury it is to have that kind of space.”

“I’d like to get involved in restoring some of the beautiful older homes I see,” Jeff says. “I’ve got the skills, and there is good material for that kind of work here.”

A place in the community

“I call myself an ex-actor,” Jeff says. “But I’m not sure there is really any such thing. I’d like to get involved in the local theater scene and find a place for myself there.”

“There is a sense of opportunity in Spokane,” Sandi says. “And the quality of life is wonderful.”

“We love art and architecture and being with our friends and family,” Jeff Mooring says. “We realized we could have all of that in Spokane.”
